Ceramemories explores the possibilities and meanings of ash as a material for ceramics. Through material exploration, ceramic creation, and interviews, the project expands into the topics of our relationship with materials, the sustainability of funeral and ceramic practices, and the meanings of life. The ash material comes from animals who once lived and, unfortunately, died in the shelter—lives that would otherwise have been discarded.
